Sarah Warburton was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. She grew up in Anglesey with her mum, dad, sister
and miserable-looking dog, Bryn. After school she studied Art at Bangor, North Wales and then went on to study
illustration in Bristol. On finishing college, Sarah moved to London but quickly came to realise that Bristol
was the place she really loved and so she moved back, met her husband and hasn't looked back! Sarah often sits
and wonders what she's going to 'be' when she grows up. She says "I'm incredibly lucky to have a job where I
draw pictures and colour them in too - I'm even allowed to go over the lines!
For Orchard Books, Sarah has illustrated Tilly and the Wild Goats, by Joan Lingard and the Happy Ever After series, written by Tony Ross. In The Rumblewick Letters, Sarah makes her picture book debut. Meet Rumblewick! He's a witch's cat with one big problem - his witch, Haggy Aggy, doesn't want to be a witch anymore! She wants to be a regular girl and do regular girl things. If the Hags on High catch her, Rumblewick will be out of a job! How can he convince her that witchy ways are best? |
| Sarah lives in Bristol with her husband, Lee, and her baby daughter, Lucy. When she's not busy illustrating, she enjoys gardening and loves planting big sunflowers in her small garden. | |
