Pat Moon

Pat Moon's experience as a housemother in a children's home and as a teacher have helped her to create the vivid, true-to-life characters found in her novels.
Picture of Pat Moon Pat Moon wrote her first novel, Double Image, after attending Jan Mark's course on writing for children. Published in 1993 by Orchard Books. Double Image went on to be shortlisted for the Smarties Book Prize.

Her second novel, The Spying Game met with equal success and was shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Award and the Writer's Guild Award. It was also broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Nathan's Switch and The Ghost of Sadie Kimber are her latest novels for older readers.

Pat has since gone on to write equally successful stories for younger children including Do Not Read This Book which was one of the Federation of Children's Book Groups' Pick of the Year and was shortlisted for the Sheffield Children's Book Award. Do Not Read Any Further continued the series and irrepressible Finch returns with more secrets in life, love, lies and truth in Do Not Read Or Else in May 2006.
